Statamic SMTP: the MAIL_ lines in your .env
Forms, notifications and password resets: Statamic uses Laravel mail, so it sends through SMTP Senpai by changing only the .env file.

Four details, and your emails go out
They are the same for every program: you also find them, already filled in, in your customer area.
The sender must be on a domain verified in your area: otherwise the server refuses to send. For SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, use the free email DNS checker.

Copy the details
Your username and password are in the customer area, SMTP Senpai page.
Update .env
Paste the lines: by default MAIL_MAILER is log and emails end up in the log file. If you cache the configuration, run php artisan config:clear.
Test
In the control panel open Utilities › Email, enter an address and click Send Test Email.
Prefer the API to SMTP? Statamic is a Laravel application: on projects running Laravel 12 or 13 (Statamic 6, and Statamic 5 from 5.74) you can install the official Laravel package, then set MAIL_MAILER=smtpsenpai and MAILSENPAI_API_KEY.

Do I need MAIL_SCHEME or MAIL_ENCRYPTION?
Not on Laravel 12 and 13: leave MAIL_SCHEME empty, on port 2525 or 587 STARTTLS starts automatically. On Laravel 10 and 11 set MAIL_ENCRYPTION=tls.
The panel says sent but no email arrives
If emails go through the queue, the message only means queued: check that the queue worker is running.
Can I configure mail from the control panel?
No: Utilities › Email shows the settings in use and sends the test, but the values are changed in the .env file.
Can I send without SMTP?
Yes, through the API: on projects running Laravel 12 or 13 you can install the official Laravel package, below.
